FAQ

  • Where are you located?

6100 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55422. I also offer virtual meetings.

  • How can I contact you?

    Phone: 612-440-8377

    Fax: 612-440-2187

    Email: info@tessagittleman.com

Please note, if you are a care provider looking to send HIPAA-covered material and do not have a fax, please use SendInc.com to send it securely via email.

  • Are you accepting new clients?

I am accepting Marathon clients, but for regular, ongoing therapy, I am accepting people to my waitlist. My client calendar changes frequently, so please reach out! The amount of time until getting off the waitlist varies based on what’s happening in the universe, so please don’t get discouraged.

  • Do you go by "Tess" or "Tessa"?

I go by either and use them interchangeably. As long as you don’t call me “Sweetie” (or a more subversive term of endearment), we’re going to be fine.

  • Do you provide sessions in-person or virtually?

Given the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, its variants, and my health issues, most sessions occur online. Occasionally, for relational and/or Marathon sessions where all parties are vaccinated, or in situations where we might be addressing specific trauma issues, in-person sessions may be offered/requested.

  • Do you charge for a screening or consultation call for new clients?

Having experienced first-hand the tragedy of investing yourself into therapy, only to be disappointed by the therapist, I know how frustrating it is to start all over again with someone new. That's why I offer free, 25-minute phone consultations for new clients. I want you find the right person for you, even if it's not with me.

  • Do you ever go on-site to perform services?

Depending on COVID and the practices in place, I are able to come on-site, or meet at a neutral location. I do not offer in-home visits.

  • Do you take insurance?

I do not bill insurance and services are entirely private pay. However, I can process a Superbill for clients looking to use FSA/HSA accounts.

  • Do you provide referrals when you are not taking new clients?

Of course! If I am not taking new clients, or we do a consultation and we’re not a great fit, I will happily send you at least three referrals.

  • Do you do any treatments with psychedelics?

While I believe in and support this work, I am not specialized in providing hallucinogenic-driven therapies. There are some local clinics working with Ketamine, but unfortunately, Psilocybin is not past the clinical trial stage of research. • Do you prescribe medications?

No, I am not a licensed prescriber. However, I am happy to engage in care coordination (after a Release of Information has been signed) with your prescriber of choice. If you do not have one already, I work regularly with some wonderful providers that might be a good fit and am happy to send you referrals upon request.

  • Do you work with Primary Care Providers or other specialists?

I will engage in care coordination with relevant providers, contingent upon a Release of Information being on file.
